The Specialty Hospital of Washington (SHW) is proud to announce the appointment of Susan P. Bailey MPA, RN, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Although Mrs. Bailey joins us from San Diego, California, she is no stranger to the DC Area - having previously worked at Georgetown University Hospital and attended Marymount College in Virginia. “I look forward to working with the talented team of the Specialty Hospital of Washington. As the new CEO you have my commitment to make a difference in the lives of our patients and residents everyday. We will do this by continuously focusing on clinical quality and service excellence”.

The arrival of Susan is “a strong step forward in enhancing the operations and positioning of the Hospital, and her extensive experience in Long-Term Acute Care moves us closer to achieving our goal of being a Focused Center of Medical Excellence” states Eric Rieseberg, Chairman of The Specialty Hospital of Washington.
 
Susan brings over 30 years progressive management experience as a healthcare executive and nursing leader. Her background includes CEO positions at multiple LTAC facilities while working for Kindred Healthcare over the past 10 years and many Nursing leadership positions in both critical care and general medicine at multiple medical facilities. Susan received her nursing degree from the United Hospital School of Nursing – Portchester, NY, her Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and her Masters of Public Administration from the University of New Mexico.
