WASHINGTON, D.C. – (Tuesday, May 30th, 2006) –The Specialty Hospital of Washington (SHW) is proud to announce the appointment of Betsy Forrest, BSN, as its new Director of Provider Relations. Joining us from Spring, TX, Ms. Forrest will head up the Provider Relations Department whose role encompasses patient assessment for admission, referral development, physician relations and external education.

“The addition of a person with the skills that Betsy brings to our Team not only allows us to enhance our relationships with referral sources, but provides us with the opportunity and resources to better educate the entire community about Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals and their special contribution to the healthcare continuum” states Eric Rieseberg, Chairman of The Specialty Hospital of Washington.

Betsy brings over 7 years of Provider Relations experience in the LTACH arena. Her background includes referral development positions at multiple LTAC facilities while working for Nexus Specialty Hospital, Triumph Hospital and Mariner Post Acute Network; experience in home care; and nursing positions in rehab, oncology and general medicine at multiple medical facilities. Betsy received her nursing degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.
