About the Nursing Center

Whether it is you or your loved one who is selecting a nursing and geriatric facility, there are more factors involved than just the building. At The Capitol Hill Nursing Center we know the value of a caring and home-like environment and do everything we can to help make the transition to a nursing center easier.

Since 1992, our Nursing Center has become a shining example of caring for residents from Washington D.C. and the surrounding areas. The Capitol Hill Nursing Center offers quality healthcare and compassionate service at an affordable cost. Guided by our commitment to serve your healthcare needs, we have responded to the changing times and needs in a unique way . . . with a nursing and geriatric center.

We know when one is selecting a nursing facility, more attention may be given to the living environment and the atmosphere of the facility than the building itself. At our Nursing Center, we have the best of both worlds; a well equipped facility and a dedicated healthcare staff that is committed to help you or your loved one achieve their maximum potential for physical, emotional and social wellness.

We invite you and your family to visit our nursing center. Experience our excellent level of care and talk to our staff before you make a decision as important as this one.

What is Nursing Facility?
A nursing facility is a specialized restorative/rehabilitative center providing care 24 hours a day to help a resident achieve their optimum level of wellness and independence.

Nursing Center Services
We are licensed as a nursing facility by the D.C. Department of Health and Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs. The Capitol Hill Nursing Center services are unparalleled. The facility’s unique location in the neighborhood allows convenient access to services not usually available in the community. Among the services available through our facility are:

  • Occupational, Physical, Recreation and Speech/Language/Cognitive Therapies
  • Ophthalmology
  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Social/Case Management
  • Podiatry
  • Mental Health
  • Dietary and Nutritional Support
  • Pastoral Care
  • Dental

Plus all the services available at our hospital.

Prior to admission, a nurse and social worker will determine the level of care needed. The staff acquaints the resident with the facility and services. We monitor each resident’s individual needs continuously, and the type and level of care is adjusted accordingly. In case of an emergency, our hospital and other D.C. local hospitals’ services are available.
